formulations of the face mask of guava leaves (Psidium guajava L) using three different types of
binding agents is Karbopol 940, Na.CMC, and HPMC with the active ingredient powder of
guava leaves and black glutinous rice starch. The results showed that all three types of
preparations are green-brown and has a distinctive aromatic odor. Granule particle size of
Na.CMC binder is 0.602 mm, Karbopol 940 is 0.722 mm, HPMC is 0.0494 mm. Flow rate of
Na.CMC binder is 4.23 g, Karbopol 940 is 4.15 g / s, HPMC is 4.16 g / s. Break the bond angle
of Na.CMC is 37.33o, Karbopol 940 is 35.21o, HPMC is 32.75o. Moisture of Na.CMC binder is
10,368 %, Karbopol 940 is 10,079 %, HMPC is 12,736 %. Water absorption of Na.CMC binder
is 12.4 ml, Karbopol 940 is 11.5 ml, HPMC is 17.3 ml. The third type of binding has pH 6, the
fastener Coverage of Na.CMC is 2.25 mm / g, Karbopol 940 is 2.25 mm / g, HMPC is 1.7 mm /
g. Adhesion of Na.CMC binder is 22.34 minutes, Karbopol 940 is 24.13 minutes, HPMC is
27.15 minutes. Homogeneity of the three types of binders are homogeneous. The overall
observations showed three types of binding did not affect the physical properties of the three
types of binder dosage and good to use as a binder preparation.
